Assessment for Learning Audit Instrument (AfLAi)

We are a team of researchers from the Learning Sciences Institute Australia, Australian Catholic University. Our research involves testing the AfLAi in Australian schools to examine teachers’ knowledge and use of Assessment for Learning (formative assessment).

The AfLAi covers a range of evidence based teacher practices related to Assessment for Learning including:
  • Sharing learning intentions / success criteria
  • Questioning / classroom discussion
  • Feedback
  • Peer and self assessment
We need…
teachers willing to complete the AfLAi. This involves:
  • Approximately 20 minutes of your teachers’ time
  • Responding to questions about their use of Assessment for Learning on a 5-point scale.
You will receive…
a summary report of responses from teachers in your school.  This report may assist you in:
  • Identifying strengths and weakness in Assessment for Learning knowledge and practices in your school.
  • Developing professional development plans for your teachers.
  • Ongoing monitoring of Assessment for Learning practices in your school.
